Wine lovers not only try different bottles or visit vineyards. Wine is present in every aspect of their lives, even in their favorite soundtrack.

Wine lovers not only try different bottles or visit vineyards. Wine is present in every aspect of their lives, even in their favorite soundtrack. Today, I want to present you some very winy songs and their pairings.

Do you have several music lists on your smartphone or computer? You surely do. Some songs for a romantic dinner, others for exercising or just relaxing while reading a good book. I also have a list to cook and another to simply enjoy a glass of wine. When we are tasting, it is very pleasant to listen some songs, especially when they are about wine.

 1. “The days of wine and roses”This song was recorded by many famous artists of the 60s. I like two versions: those of Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra. It’s a bit nostalgic, but also romantic: “The lonely – the night discloses just a passing breeze filled with memories of the golden smile that introduced me to the days of wine and roses and you.” When I listen to it, I think of a sparkling wine. The bubbles, although cheerful and romantic, also reflect a certain nostalgia. Start your music and wine moment with a sparkling Subercaseaux Extra Brut.

2. “Pour the wine” (Dean Martin) Dean Martin was one of those singers who, with his unique voice and style, made many to fell in love with his songs. Today several of them have been recorded by the new generations of artists, such as the famous “Sway” by Michael Bublé. The song “Pour the wine” is fresh and stylized as a sailor song. It makes you want to drink a fresh white wine, something saline, from a maritime climate, like Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc.playlist

3. “Good friend and glass of wine” (LeAnn Rimes) I love this song because it talks about our daily life, about each one of us, when we have too much trouble, the children are most annoying than ever, the husband does not do it any better or love has left our lives. It is time to let off steam, to share our emotions, to sit down and talk about everything with a glass of wine. For me nothing better for these moments than some cheeses and Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay – a classic white that, like the country music of LeAnn Rimes, always gives us joy.

4. “Summer wine” (Nancy Sinatra) “Strawberries cherries and an angel’s kiss in Spring. My summer wine is really made from all these things.” This lines from the song “Summer wine” could be the description of the back label of Casillero del Diablo Rosé. I love this wine! It is ideal for when I want to stop and just let myself be carried away by the thoughts and emotions in those long summer evenings or while doing a mini homemade spa, sitting on the terrace with a chilled rosé lass. It was originally a great hit by Nancy Sinatra, but I’m fascinated by the interpretation of Lana del Rey.Casillero Chardonnay - guitarra

5. “Red red wine” (UB40) That reggae song –a cover of the classic by Neil Diamond- was trendy on TV and radio when I was very small. Yes, you guessed. I am not so old. The rhythm is fascinating and immediately invites to dance. “Red red wine you make me feel so fine. You keep me rocking all of the time. Red red wine you make me feel so grand.I feel a million dollars when you’re just in my hand.” These lines, which could be used for a commercial of a winery, added to the rhythms of Jamaican music, invites you to uncork a red wine that is pure joy as Casillero del Diablo Carmenere.

6. “How does the wine taste” (Barbra Streisand) The lyrics of the song express: “How does the wine taste? Does it stain your lips? What is the fruit-like? Just beyond my fingertips?” These questions were made by one of the most talented singers and actresses of all time: the great Barbra Streisand. Sometimes we get sick talking about many technicalities. Sometimes it’s time to simply uncork Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon and enjoy every sip…

7. “Melva’s wine” (Johnny Cash) “Every year about this time, my wife Melva made some wine. Every year about this time, the air is sweet as Melva’s wine,” sang Johnny Cash. What can be richer than finishing our list of songs with a sweet wine like summer, with hints of honey, flowers and ripe fruit, as Concha y Toro Late Harvest.
