Casillero del Diablo Reserva makes history with 90 points awarded by James Suckling

Casillero del Diablo is proud to announce a historic recognition for its most classic and iconic wine variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva, after the 2017 vintage was awarded 90 points by the recognised US wine critic James Suckling.

In his report, the critic described Casillero del Diablo as “a pretty and delicious cabernet sauvignon with currants, berries and dark chocolate. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a crisp finish. A go-to cabernet that always pleases.”

“We are so proud of this news, particularly because the awarded variety is our famous and beloved Cabernet Sauvignon. Without a doubt it is an enormous acknowledgement of the great work carried out over decades, in which we have always been focused on finding the best quality in our wines,” said Casillero del Diablo winemaker Marcio Ramírez.

Marcelo Papa, technical director for Concha y Toro, added. “We have the privilege of offering this Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 in the more than 145 countries where we can be found today, which is why feel truly happy that our consumers can enjoy this awarded wine around the world.”

Casillero del Diablo Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is considered the brand’s principal wine. It was launched in Chile in the middle of the 1960s and years later it crossed borders to become the most iconic and favourite Casillero del Diablo wine around the world.
