The US wine critic James Suckling visited Chile and Argentina in April to taste nearly 1,200 wines during the two and a half weeks he spent in the region. In his first report published in July Viña Concha y Toro was one of the highest ranked wineries with 16 wines scoring 90+ points, including 95 points for the 2011 Don Melchor.
Suckling has now released a second report on his web site in which he included the 2011 Don Melchor among his “Top 100 Andes Wines” and named it one of Chile’s most outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons. This high praise continues positioning Concha y Toro’s icon as one of Chile’s most important wines at the global level.
James Suckling is a well-respected wine critic from the United States. His web site, JamesSuckling.com, launched in 2010, features continuous reports on major wine regions around the world.
