Don Melchor 2011 named Chile’s Best Wine in the 2016 Wine100 Challenge

Don Melchor Wine100The ­fifth version of the Wine100 Challenge, which is focused on the trade and the most important consumers in China, awarded the 2011 Don Melchor a Gold Medal and the Best Wine of Chile trophy in an awards ceremony attended by winemaker Isabel Mitarakis.

The 2016 Wine100 Challenge, held in Shanghai on June 21–27, was judged by a jury of celebrated international experts, including Andrew Caillard MW, Fongyee Walker, Jane Skilton MW, Robert Joseph (founder of the International Wine Challenge), Frankie Zhao and others, who tasted more than 420 wines from around the world.

The winning wines will also participate in an extensive tour through 12 Chinese cities in the coming months. The events will include tastings for consumers, during which the 2011 Don Melchor will be able to demonstrate the qualities that have led it to be positioned as one of the world’s great Cabernet Sauvignons.
