With the unique final Virtual Wine Tasting, the campaign’s series of digital outreach drew to a close on August 28.
Over 1650 people joined us for the campaign’s final event, building on the outstanding characteristics and remarkable bouquets of Concha y Toro’s red wines from the exceptional 2018 vintage. The campaign included a 360° showcase at points of sale, new tourism elements, and digital initiatives like the www.desafiatussentidos.com platform, which invited consumers to put their senses to the test identifying the different aromas associated with the wines.
The live tasting featured Master of Senses Massimo Leonori, Marcelo Papa (Technical Director of Enology at Concha y Toro), and Héctor Urzúa (TRIO enologist), who tasted Marques de Casa Concha Pinot Noir 2018, Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, TRIO Merlot 2018, and Gran Reserva Serie Riberas Carmenere 2018.
What made 2018 an extraordinary vintage? The year featured idyllic weather conditions – a rainy winter with moderate temperatures and cool nights, followed by a sunny springtime with slightly cooler temperatures than the average and no rainfall, then a summer of wide thermal variations, and an autumn with moderate daytime temperatures and cool nights – giving rise to wines of magnificent depth, outstanding aromatic expression, polished tannins, and outstanding character and personality.
