The wine Marques de Casa Concha País-Cinsault 2014 received Gold Medal as well as Regional Trophy as the best in its category under £15.
The 2014 Marques de Casa Concha by winemaker Marcelo Papa is a blend of 85% País and 15% Cinsault.
The País grapes come from century-old vines in the Cauquenes zone of the Maule Valley, and the Cinsault grows on 50-year-old vines in the Trehuaco zone of the Itata Valley.
Each variety was vinied separately using the carbonic maceration for a more delicate extraction and to produce a fresher, fruitier wine that is very easy to drink.
Decanter World Wine Awards is one of the most widely known and prestigious wine competitions in the world. This year, 240 judges, including 85 Masters of Wine and 23 Master Sommeliers, tasted 16,000 wines from more than 50 countries.
