Impressive results for Concha y Toro in James Suckling's latest report

Chile’s value offering is established – but is there more room for greatness? Concha y Toro’s specific origin wines granted prodigious recognition by the prestigious American critic.

Carmin de Peumo 2017, the winery’s icon Carmenere, scored an extraordinary 95 points, as did Amelia Pinot Noir 2018. Conversely, Amelia Chardonnay 2018 received a remarkable 94 points. 

Recognized in contrast is the Gravas line holding a score of 94 points for its Syrah 2018 and 93 points for its Sauvignon Blanc 2019. As regards Terrunyo, its wines received outstanding scores: Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 93 points, Terrunyo Carmenere 2018 94 points, Terrunyo Sauvignon Blanc 2019 91 points and Terrunyo Malbec 2016 92 points.

The unparalleled quality of the various terroirs present in Marques de Casa Concha, in conjunction with an extraordinary 2018 harvest led to achieving important scores: Marques de Casa Concha Etiqueta Negra 2018, 94 points, Marques de Casa Concha Pinot Noir 2018, 94 points, Marques de Casa Concha Malbec 2018, 93 points and Marques de Casa Concha Syrah 2018, 93 points. Marques’ limited editions – Marques de Casa Concha Pinot Noir Limited Edition Bio-Bio 2018, and Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay Limited Edition Bio-Bio 2018 – also excelled with 94 points.

Finally, the Grand Reserve Riberas series harvested surprising awards with 93 points for its Carmenere 2019, 92 for its Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 and 92 for its Syrah 2018
