The September 15 edition of England’s The Independent newspaper published its list of the top 15 New World Cabernet Sauvignons in an article by wine writer John Clarke. And at the top of the list was the 2014 Marques de Casa Concha, whose remarkable value for money also qualified it as the only Best Buy in the group.
The piece added that the wine—made by the renowned winemaker Marcelo Papa—is a Cabernet from vineyards planted at the foot of the Andes Mountains, 650 meters above sea level. It also commended the winemaker’s decision to harvest the grapes earlier than usual to achieve a fresher, fruitier wine with smooth tannins.
