Viña Concha y Toro’s Center of Research and Innovation joins the prestigious international network of oenological and vine-growing research

Its membership was made official on October 27 at the OENODOC & OENOVITI INTERNATIONAL 8th GENERAL ASSEMBLY, with the presentation of Dr. Álvaro González, assistant manager, research and development, of the Center of Research and Innovation.

As part of its plan of engagement and internationalization, Viña Concha y Toro’s Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) formally joined the OENOVITI INTERNATIONAL Network, the first and only network of research and practices in oenological and vine-growing matters, having over 40 members including universities and private institutions from around the world.

The objective of this French network directed by the Scientific Institute of Vines and Wine (ISVV) and coordinated by the University of Bordeaux, is to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise among winemakers, academics and industry representatives, providing its members with a high degree of visibility on the international scene through formation, research and exchange projects, meetings and events.

Dr. Álvaro González, assistant manager, research and development, of the Center for Research and Innovation, attended the OENODOC & OENOVITI INTERNATIONAL 8th GENERAL ASSEMBLY”, held on October 27 and 28 at the University of Pavoda Conegliano, Italy, and spoke to the audience about Viña Concha y Toro and the CRI, making the company the only Chilean winery member of the network.

For Gerard Casaubon, director of CRI, being a member of this network will provide it with access to a group of researchers of international excellence. “Viña Concha y Toro’s Center of Research and Innovation will be able to access the knowledge of a first-class international network of researchers, to share with them our needs in research matters, to know their results and to prepare joint projects in the future”.

OENOVITI INTERNATIONAL Network joins the partnerships that CII has with UC Davis, an American  institution recognized internationally for its agricultural and forestry research, and that Viña Concha y Toro has with the Mercier nurseries.
