Concha y Toro again in ranking of the most admired wine brands in the world

For the ninth consecutive year, Concha y Toro is distinguished among the five most admired wine brands in the world, according to the survey of professionals of the sector that is carried out annually by the British magazine Drinks International, this year in collaboration with the consultancy Wine Intelligence.

In this opportunity, the winery occupies the N. 4 place at a global level and the N. 1 most admired brand in South America, leading in the first position with respect to the Chilean industry.

The list, “The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2019” was unveiled on Sunday as part of the Prowein wine show in Düsseldorf (Germany). On that occasion, the supplement that informs the study was revealed. The company stands out due to “the consistency and quality price relationship that crosses the entire portfolio, with a good range of wines at different levels of quality”. The report highlights that winery is a true global actor with a solid distribution in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania.

This study is carried out annually and the voting is done by a group of experts, Masters of Wine, advisers, winemakers, wine writers, buyers, educators and analysts. Their preference to cast their vote, regarding the brands they most admire, is guided by the following criteria:

  • Consistent and growing quality
  • Reflection of the region or country of origin
  • Response to the needs and tastes of the target audience
  • Successful distribution and packaging
  • Wine presents great appeal for a powerful demographic

Also, Viña Cono Sur, member of the Viña Concha y Toro holding, was placed at number 11 in the ranking.  This result is even more significant considering that the winery was founded in 1993.

Paul Konar, General Manager speaks for the Cono Sur family when he says: “We receive this recognition with pride. To be featured, once again, in the Most Admired Wine Brands of the Word, confirms that the direction outlined by our three core values – quality, innovation and sustainability – is the right path to develop a Premium and global wine brand.”
