Joaquín Hidalgo, winemaker, and journalist, recently published his second report on Vinous called “Chile: A Stylistic Journey from the Andes to the Coastal Ridge,” giving Concha y Toro wines excellent scores. Hidalgo is responsible for tasting wines from Chile and Argentina for Vinous, a prestigious digital wine publication.

Amelia Chardonnay 2019 scored an extraordinary 95 points, while Amelia Pinot Noir 2019 received a remarkable 94 points.  Within the report, the journalist highlighted the words of Marcelo Papa, Technical Director of Concha y Toro: “The Amelia Chardonnay marked a radical change for those of us who went to Quebrada Seca, Limarí. It offers a texture with more elegant fruity flavors.” Hidalgo added that “the Chardonnay Amelia is indeed a success. Austere with precise fruity flavors accompanied by lime and ginger, it is the standard-bearer”.

The 2018 vintage of Concha y Toro’s icon Carmenere -Carmin de Peumo- was awarded 94 points. As for the Terrunyo line, its 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon scored 93 points, the 2019 Carmenere 92 points and the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc 91 points.

The Andes Mountains tribute wines obtained excellent scores: Gravas Syrah 2019 received 92 points and Gravas Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 91-92 points.
