Gran Barra Bodega 1883: the new must-visit at Concha y Toro’s Centro del Vino
Enjoy some of Chile’s most celebrated wines by the glass –including Don Melchor, ranked the number one wine in the world by Wine Spectator– now available at Gran Barra Bodega 1883, a space designed to captivate wine lovers, travelers, and food enthusiasts alike.
Stretching over 25 meters and built upon the foundations of 5,184 wine bottles, this monumental bar impresses not only with its striking design but also as a unique stage where wine takes center stage. With more than 50 labels available by the glass or by the bottle, Gran Barra invites guests to explore Chile’s diverse styles and terroirs, always paired with signature tapas, vibrant sharing boards, and desserts crafted to elevate each pairing.

Among the treasures available are Casillero del Diablo, Marques de Casa Concha, Terrunyo, Amelia, Don Melchor, and Carmín de Peumo, all offered in tasting formats of 30 ml (a quarter glass), 60 ml (half a glass), or 120 ml (a full glass). This experience gives visitors the chance to create their own personalized tasting journey, starting from just $1,200 CLP per glass.
The culinary offering that accompanies this experience is equally remarkable. Featuring signature creations made with local ingredients sourced from small producers, the menu includes both hot and cold tapas –starting at $5,000 CLP– as well as boards inspired by Chile’s southern and rural landscapes; each thoughtfully designed to complement the wines.

Located just 20 kilometers from Santiago, Gran Barra is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday and Monday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
“Gran Barra is a one-of-a-kind space, designed to bring visitors closer to wine in a playful, modern, and sophisticated way,” says renowned interior designer Enrique Concha, one of the project’s creators.
A world-class food and wine experience
Together with Restaurant Bodega 1883, Gran Barra forms the heart of Plaza Concha y Toro, the gastronomic epicenter of the Centro del Vino. Under the direction of chefs Ismael Lastra and Tomás Saldivia, the culinary concept embraces a farm-to-table philosophy, where every ingredient is carefully selected to highlight the essence of wine.
“At Gran Barra, we want every glass to enter into dialogue with the cuisine; that’s why we select ingredients that enhance the character of the wine and make each pairing a unique experience,” explains Tomás. Ismael adds: “Our cooking is rooted in the land and in local producers. It’s an honest proposal, showcasing the very best of Chile and bringing it directly to the table, always in harmony with the wine.”
More than just a wine bar, Gran Barra is a living space that celebrates Chile’s culture, land, and gastronomic heritage, bringing the flavors of the countryside directly to the table. A place where pairing is reimagined, and every glass becomes an unforgettable experience.
