100 Days: In Pursuit of Freshness and Minerality

From blooming to harvest, every moment is a crucial decision. Over the course of nearly 100 days, Marcelo Papa, Technical Director of Concha y Toro, together with his winemaking team, observe, measure, and act with precision, seeking the perfect balance and the purest expression that will give rise to our Amelia Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

A new harvest season is approaching our Quebrada Seca vineyard, an extreme origin located in the renowned Limarí Appellation, just 22 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and on the edge of the Atacama Desert. It is a place that demands preparation and dedication, leaving its distinctive mark on every vintage.

One hundred days, from blooming to harvest, define the natural cycle in which the Burgundian varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reach their fullest expression. During this period, Marcelo Papa and his winemaking team meticulously oversee every detail, looking for the perfect balance and ensuring exceptional fruit quality, in line with the demanding standards of this extreme vineyard in northern Chile.

The one hundred days between blooming and harvest mark the natural cycle in which the grapes achieve their maximum expression. Through this process, we seek a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir with vibrant freshness, natural elegance, and great minerality, faithful expression of an exceptional terroir,” explains Marcelo Papa.

This precision and constant pursuit of the best expression of a world-class terroir are key to the identity of Amelia wines, internationally recognized for their vibrant freshness, natural elegance, and authentic expression of its origin. Two outstanding expressions born from the meticulous care of the winemaking team and a terroir that has established itself as an international benchmark, widely acclaimed by specialized critics.
