Amelia Chardonnay consolidates its leadership as Chile’s #1 Chardonnay
With 98 points in the 2026 Chile Report by Vinous, Amelia Chardonnay 2025 became the highest-rated Chardonnay in the entire report, reaffirming its leadership and once again positioning itself among South America’s great white wines.
The influential wine publication Vinous has released its 2026 Chile Report, prepared by critic Joaquín Hidalgo, who is responsible for reviewing wines from Chile, Argentina and Spain for the publication. In this edition, more than 500 wines from the country’s leading wineries were tasted, with Amelia Chardonnay 2025 standing out with an outstanding 98-point score, the highest rating awarded to a Chilean Chardonnay in the report.
Joaquín Hidalgo described Amelia Chardonnay 2025 as: “It is seductive on the nose, opening with green apple and a fresh lime note. Oak provides an elegant frame, with hints of linden, fennel and soft herbs. The palate is broad, with integrated freshness, a slight creaminess and a saline edge that drives energy. More austere aromatically than previous vintages, reflecting the cooler, cloudier start to the new cycle in 2025, it delivers a delicious mouthfeel and a long, sustained finish shaped by salinity.”
Amelia Chardonnay originates from Quebrada Seca, an extreme-origin vineyard located in the Limarí Valley, just 23 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and at the gateway to the Atacama Desert. The combination of calcareous soils, ocean influence, the camanchaca fog and exceptional luminosity gives rise to wines of remarkable purity, tension and minerality, positioning this vineyard among the world’s great terroirs for Chardonnay.
The distinction achieved by Amelia Chardonnay 2025 confirms the extraordinary potential of Quebrada Seca as one of the world’s great Chardonnay terroirs and validates the pioneering vision of Marcelo Papa, Amelia’s winemaker, who more than three decades ago recognized the potential of this unique corner of Limarí to craft world-class wines capable of authentically expressing the identity and richness of their place of origin.
With 98 points from Vinous, Amelia Chardonnay reaffirms its position as Chile’s #1 Chardonnay and further establishes Quebrada Seca as one of the world’s great origins for premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
