After completing 100% of the targets and actions specified in the Clean Production Agreement (CPA) led by Acción Empresas, the company once again received this certification.
The main objective of the Zero Waste to Landfill Clean Production Agreement (CPA)—a public-private partnership led by business network Acción Empresas, the Agency for Sustainability and Climate Change, Chile’s Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), and the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Health, to which companies operating in various sectors in the country have voluntarily adhered—is to minimize the generation of solid waste and increase waste valorization.
After completing 100% of the targets in this CPA, 42 companies and their 72 facilities—including Concha y Toro, which has made major strides in its waste management through reuse, recycling, and valorization, currently accounting for 98% of the waste—received the certification from the Agency for Sustainability and Climate Change in a virtual ceremony.
“This significant progress has been achieved thanks to the effort and commitment of all those who work at the company, who have helped us to implement, monitor, and achieve optimal waste management in our facilities”, explained Valentina Lira, Viña Concha y Toro’s Sustainability Director.
