Concha y Toro wines performed remarkably in the recently published summer edition of the renowned wine magazine Wine & Spirits.
The winery was selected as one of the magazine’s 36 All-Star brands for “offering great drinks for under US$20.” Furthermore, Gran Reserva Carmenere 2019 scored 91 points in the “100 Best for under US$20” section and was described by Wine & Spirit’s South America critic, Joshua Greene, as a wine of “elegant texture, clean fruit and a long finish.”
Moreover, after tasting 66 wines from the Maipo Valley, Greene chose 25 as the best examples of this terroir including Marques de Casa Concha Etiqueta Negra 2019 (91 points) – “Clean and bright, this is a fresh blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot” – and Gravas Syrah 2019 (91 points) – “fresh cherry and blueberry fruit burst from this wine, which seems dense at first before taking shape on contact with the air.”
Two other wines were recognized in the magazine’s summer edition. These were the Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2021 (90 points and Best Buy) – “a Sauvignon full of passion fruit flavor with refreshing acidity” and Marques de Casa Concha Rosé Cinsault 2020 (91 points) – “This wine has the fresh aroma of the ltata hills, is wild and refreshing”.
Once again these recognitions reaffirm the consistency and quality of Concha y Toro‘s portfolio.
