Concha y Toro has once again demonstrated its exceptional winemaking consistency in the prestigious Chilean wine guide, Descorchados, authored by renowned Chilean wine journalist Patricio Tapia. One of our wines received the ‘Best Carmenere’ award, and all the brands in the Luxury Brands portfolio earned scores of over 94 points.

Carmín de Peumo 2022: Chosen as the Best Carmenere in Chile

In its 16th vintage, Concha y Toro’s iconic Carmenere, Carmín de Peumo, received an impressive score of 97 points and was named Chile’s Best Carmenere for the eighth time in the 26-year history of the Descorchados guide. The country’s first iconic Carmenere wine was also featured in the Best Cachapoal Entre Cordilleras ranking.

Carmín de Peumo 2022 is composed of 95% Carmenere and 5% Cabernet Franc. This wine truly reflects its origin, the Peumo terroir in the Cachapoal Valley. Due to its unique climate and soil conditions, this region is recognized as the best in Chile for producing high-end Carmenere.

D.O. Limarí Wine Awards

Amelia Chardonnay 2023 received an outstanding score of 96 points, ranking among the Top Whites of the Year and earning recognition in the categories for Best Whites, Best Chardonnay, and Best Northern Chile Wines. The 2023 vintage is notable for its ethereal, refined, and tense profile, offering good persistence and a saline finish characteristic of its origin.

Amelia Pinot Noir 2023 also received an impressive score of 96 points and was featured in the Best Pinot Noir and Best of Northern Chile rankings. The 2023 vintage of this Pinot Noir truly reflects its origin, showcasing a more structured profile with more pronounced tannins, greater tension, and freshness compared to previous vintages.

Both wines are sourced from the Quebrada Seca vineyard in the esteemed Limarí appellation, now recognized as the cradle of exceptional Chilean Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

D.O. Maipo Andes Wine Awards

Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 received an outstanding score of 96 points and was recognized in the rankings for Best Cabernet Sauvignon and Best Maipo Andes. Sourced from the Pirque vineyard, one of Concha y Toro’s oldest vineyards, this Cabernet Sauvignon has earned notable scores and mentions in this guide for 19 consecutive vintages.

Marques de Casa Concha Heritage 2022 has achieved an impressive score of 94 points in its third vintage. This wine is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon-based, consisting of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. It reflects the rich heritage and tradition of Concha y Toro, crafted from grapes grown in the El Mariscal vineyard, located in the prestigious terroir of Puente Alto. This region has played a key role in Chile’s modern wine history.

Recognitions for Casablanca D.O. and Peumo D.O. Wines

Terrunyo Sauvignon Blanc 2024 has received an impressive score of 96 points, placing it among the Best Casablanca wines, Best Whites, and Best Sauvignon Blancs. This vintage is distinct from previous ones due to the incorporation of 20% aging in casks that have been used four or more times for three months. This process enhances the wine’s density and structure, making it an exceptional example of Casablanca Sauvignon Blanc.

Terrunyo Carmenere 2023 received an impressive score of 94 points in the guide and was featured in the Best Cachapoal Entre Cordilleras list. Sourced from the 27th quarter of the Peumo vineyard, this wine has earned the title of Best Carmenere of Chile seven times, according to Descorchados. Additionally, it has received excellent ratings (91+ points) for 19 out of its 24 vintages in this guide.

Descorchados is a comprehensive guide that provides an in-depth look at the Chilean wine industry and is currently Latin America’s most influential wine guide. It is authored by Chilean wine journalist Patricio Tapia, who has extensive experience in both Chilean and international media, including renowned publications such as Wine & Spirits, Decanter, and Adega magazines.
