Renowned American wine critic, James Suckling, published the list of his Top 100 Wines of Chile for the year 2023, in which he highlighted three labels from Concha y Toro’s high-end portfolio. Discover which ones he picked below!
As is tradition, the American wine journalist James Suckling released the ranking of the best 100 wines from Chile following the publication of his latest report on the country earlier this year. At this time, Suckling included three wines from the Concha y Toro Luxury Brands portfolio among the Top 50.
Ranking eighth on the exclusive list is the wine from D.O. Limarí, Amelia Chardonnay 2021, which was given 96 points by Suckling. This is the first time this wine has made it into the Top 10 of the ranking, undoubtedly showcasing the excellent consistency and winemaking quality of a Chardonnay that has been captivating the global specialized press. Also representing D.O. Limarí, Amelia Pinot Noir 2021 earned 95 points from the publication, securing the 41st position on the list.
As for Concha y Toro’s iconic wine, Carmín de Peumo, it was honored at the 38th position with its 2021 vintage, which stood out in the last Chile Report with an outstanding 97 points. It was described as: “A beautiful, fresh and dusty expression of Carmenere with plenty of dark spices, cassis, dark cherries, cocoa powder and flowers. Flavorful but lucid, fresh and precise with layers of fruit. Pure but intense, with impressive concentration”.
These great accolades once again demonstrate the excellent quality of our wines and how they reflect the unique conditions of our Limarí and Peumo Denominations of Origin. Check out the complete list of the Top 100 Wines of Chile here.
