Jeb Dunnuck awards outstanding scores to Viña Amelia’s portfolio

The renowned US publication awarded outstanding scores to Viña Amelia’s wines in its first coverage focused on Chile, highlighting the Limarí Valley’s potential as a world-class origin for premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Following the recent visit to Chile by Virginie Boone, senior editor at Jeb Dunnuck and responsible for wine coverage across California, Spain and South America, the prestigious US publication recognised Viña Amelia’s portfolio with notable accolades, strengthening the brand’s international projection and reinforcing the Limarí Valley’s position as one of Chile’s most relevant origins for cool-climate wines.

During her visit to Chile in April, Virginie Boone toured the company’s facilities in Pirque and met with Marcelo Papa, winemaker and technical director of Viña Amelia, where they tasted a selection of vintages from the winery’s portfolio. As a result of this experience, Boone published the report “A First Look at the Wines of Chile”, where she shared key comments and scores for Viña Amelia’s wines.

Among the most notable recognitions, Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay 2024 received 97 points and was described by Virginie Boone (Jeb Dunnuck) as: “An impressively complete, medium-bodied, well-balanced wine (…) the outstanding 2024 Chardonnay Amelia has a floral, salty character and fresh, lasting acidity. It’s an outstanding cool-climate wine from the Quebrada Seca Vineyard.”

Meanwhile, Amelia Quebrada Seca Pinot Noir 2023 received 95 points, recognised for its elegance, tension and varietal expression. Virgine Boone described it as: “Silky with tension, thia medium-bodied wine is brimming in red cherry fruit, black tea, and complex structure, with a lasting hint of blood orange and supple, lovely varietal expression.”

In reference to the Limarí Valley and its privileged conditions for cool-climate wine production, Virginie Boone also noted that: “For Chardonnay, the wines from Limari are top of the top,” reinforcing the recognition of this origin as one of Chile’s most distinctive terroirs for premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

This new report on Chilean wines —the publication’s first dedicated exclusively to Chile— represents a key opportunity to strengthen Viña Amelia’s international projection within one of the most influential specialised media outlets in the US market, while consolidating the Limarí Valley as an exceptional origin for world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
