Laura Urruticoechea discovers the Centro del Vino Concha y Toro in Pirque

The host of the Unspoken podcast visited us following the recent partnership between Concha y Toro and Visa, which allows Visa cardholders to enjoy a 20% discount on a variety of exclusive experiences at the Centro del Vino.

Laura Urruticoechea toured the Centro del Vino Concha y Toro in Pirque, starting with The Origin of a Legend, an immersive, multisensory experience that invites visitors to discover the origins of wine in Chile through aromas, sounds, art, and audiovisual media.

“We had a truly wonderful experience visiting Viña Concha y Toro. In addition to enjoying extraordinary wines, we learned a lot about our country, the origins of wine in Chile, and how each terroir, climate, and process gives each variety its unique characteristics,” Laura said after her visit.

One of the highlights of the day was the Cellar Collection experience, a guided tasting of five iconic Concha y Toro wines held in front of a historic aging cellar. There, guests had the opportunity to taste Amelia Chardonnay, Amelia Pinot Noir, Carmín de Peumo, Marqués de Casa Concha Heritage, and Don Melchor 2022.

“Having gone through the immersive experience beforehand made a huge difference. We arrived with our senses much more open, and thanks to the sommelier’s guidance, we were able to identify aromas, flavors, and nuances that might have gone unnoticed before. It was a completely different way to enjoy wine,” Laura said.

The visit continued through Concha y Toro Park, the Casa Don Melchor gardens, and Plaza Concha y Toro, an ideal place to discover the winery’s food and wine offerings. At the Gran Barra de Vinos, Laura enjoyed an aperitif paired with The Icon, a wine available exclusively at the Centro del Vino. She later had lunch at restaurant Bodega 1883, where local flavors and seasonal ingredients took center stage, perfectly paired with wines from the Marques de Casa Concha range.

“It was one of those Sundays when you simply pause. A day to connect with the present, learn, talk, enjoy, and be surprised. Without a doubt, an experience I recommend everyone should have,” Laura concluded.

The visit reflects the comprehensive offering of the Centro del Vino Concha y Toro, one of Chile’s leading wine tourism destinations. Through the new partnership with Visa, cardholders can enjoy exclusive benefits on premium experiences, including a 20% discount during high season (June through September) and a 30% discount during low season (October through May), an invitation to discover the history, heritage, and richness of Chilean wine culture in a unique way.
