Between 2 and 3 October, Concha y Toro’s winemaker and technical director, Marcelo Papa, led various activities with key customers, sales force and wine experts in Panama, in order to strengthen the presence of the winery’s high-end portfolio in this classic and important Latin American market.

Marcelo Papa spent days of intense activity in Panama with his brands Amelia and Marques de Casa Concha Heritage, in order to promote and market them with his strategic partner in that market, Felipe Motta, a company with which Viña Concha y Toro has had a commercial relationship for more than 50 years.

Some of these activities included master tastings with the Panama sommelier school, training for the sales force of the different distribution channels, lunches with key customers and personalised tastings.

As the culmination of his trip, at the Sofitel Hotel in Panama City, the winemaker led a distinguished pairing lunch around the renowned Puente Alto Denomination of Origin, in which he presented the maximum exponent of this origin, the icon Cabernet Sauvignon Don Melchor, and the ultra premium and top of the line wine Marques de Casa Concha Heritage, to important clients in that market.

Being the first time he has travelled to Panama, Marcelo Papa values having led this experience together with a company of which, as a winery, we are founding partners, and with which we have built a solid relationship:

“During the last two years it has been very enriching to look again at Latin American markets, putting our energy into them to develop their potential as a destination for our premium wines. Countries such as Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru are classic and important markets for our wines, and we want to continue to deepen our relationship with each of them.”
