Identity and Extreme Origin: A Unique Expression of Chilean Chardonnay

Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay, sourced from the extreme Quebrada Seca vineyard in the Limarí Valley, stands out for its minerality, freshness, and elegance, positioning itself today as one of the world’s leading high-end Chardonnay references.

Since its first vintage in 2017 in the Limarí Appelation, Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay has steadily built, vintage after vintage, the identity of what is now Viña Amelia—an independent affiliate of Concha y Toro’s group dedicated exclusively to the production of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

After nearly a decade of work in this exceptional origin in the extreme north of Chile, Amelia Quebrada Seca has earned significant recognition from international wine critics, establishing itself as one of the finest expressions of Chilean Chardonnay.

Located just 23 km from the Pacific Ocean and at the gateway to the Atacama Desert, the Quebrada Seca vineyard is defined by its semi-arid coastal climate, high luminosity, and calcareous soils—conditions that give rise to a Chardonnay of distinctive character: fresh, mineral, and elegant.

“Discovering a terroir where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reach their highest expression is not a matter of luck, but of profound understanding of the soil, climate, and surrounding nature”, says Marcelo Papa, Technical Director of Viña Amelia.

A Decade of Excellence

Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay has established itself as a global benchmark for high-end Chardonnay and as one of Chile’s most awarded wines.

Among the recognitions that reflect its outstanding trajectory, it was recognized “White Wine of the Year” in Chile Report 2025 by renowned British Master of Wine Tim Atkin, for its 2023 vintage. This achievement is further reinforced by its inclusion in “The Enthusiast 100: The Best Wines of 2025”, where it stands out as the only Chilean white wine featured in this prestigious international ranking.

Furthermore, with its 2024 vintage, it became the only Chilean white wine to enter the influential Vinous “Top 100 Wines of the Year”, ranking No. 32 and placing among the top five Chardonnays in the world according to this esteemed list. In addition, Wine Spectator has recognized it for three consecutive years—with its 2022, 2023, and 2024 vintages, all scoring 93 points—as the highest-rated Chardonnay from Chile.

Vintage after vintage, Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay reaffirms its exceptional quality, consistently earning acclaim from international critics.

We invite you to celebrate this remarkable expression of the variety with Amelia Quebrada Seca Chardonnay, a true world-class reference.
