For the 2022 vintages of its two varietals, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Amelia received an outstanding 93 points in Wine Spectator, one of the most influential specialized publications in the United States.
Following the release of the 2022 vintage of our Luxury Brands portfolio, and specifically Amelia Chardonnay and Amelia Pinot Noir, specialized wine publications have begun their tastings to provide the upcoming scores.
On this occasion, the American magazine, Wine Spectator, awarded an outstanding score of 93 points for both of the brand’s varieties – the highest score ever for Amelia from this publication.
Aaron Romano, responsible for tasting the Chilean wines for the magazine, described Amelia Chardonnay 2022, as a wine that “deftly balances fresh acidity against richness, offering toasted almond and floral tangelo flavors up front, which fold into salted peach, pineapple and clove elements. The finish features sea spray accents and echoes the core flavors.”
Amelia Pinot Noir 2022, was praised by Romano as a wine that is “fresh and exuberant, this youthful red has plenty of appeal, offering orange peel, rooibos tea and cardamom accents to the red currant and raspberry core, with lively acidity lending a mouthwatering quality to the finish around fine, minerally tannins.”
Winemaker Marcelo Papa is in charge of Amelia, a line that invites us to push the limits in search of new horizons, revealing its sense of origin with that particular freshness and minerality that the terroir of Limarí delivers. This profile makes it the best origin in the country for the production of high-end Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
These high scores once again confirm the oenological excellence and consistency of our wines before the global press. We congratulate Marcelo Papa and the agricultural and winemaking teams at Amelia for these remarkable results.
