A group of six renowned journalists from Canada traveled to our Research and Innovation Center (CII) located in the Maule region to learn about the advancements in research and innovation in the wine industry, as well as to taste some of Viña Concha y Toro’s wine portfolio.

In January, we welcomed distinguished journalists, wine critics, and KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) from Canada to our CII with the goal of providing them with a direct insight into our facilities in Talca, which are a global benchmark in the wine industry, with a focus on applied science, technology, and sustainability.

The group included Master Sommelier John Szabo; wine journalist and educator Michelle Bouffard; wine critic and writer Patrick Désy; journalist and columnist at The Hub Malcolm Jolley; writer and editor of ExtraBrut magazine Karyne Duplessis Piché; and the creator of the renowned guide Le guide du vin Nadia Fournier.

During the visit, the Director of the CII, Álvaro González, presented the strategic plan of the Center and led an educational tour of the various facilities that make up this research, development, and innovation hub for the wine industry.

The journalists also had the opportunity to taste some of the most influential brands in Viña Concha y Toro’s portfolio in the Canadian market, such as Marques de Casa Concha, Terrunyo, Amelia, Carmín de Peumo, and Don Melchor.

This visit was very positive for sharing with influential personalities from the wine world in Canada the latest developments in the company’s high-end portfolio, the innovations developed by our R&D department to contribute to a more sustainable wine industry every day, and to continue enhancing the image of Chile as a producer of world-class wines.
