Each tree planted in this reforestation will represent the legacy of the athletes who left their mark on our country.

In recognition of the remarkable accomplishments of Para athletes during the Parapan American Games Santiago 2023, the renowned brand Concha y Toro’s Casillero del Diablo will plant 2,000 trees. These trees will symbolize the legends who participated in the sporting event.

In mid-2024, a reforestation effort is planned in Pirque, near the vineyards owned by Concha y Toro. The company has a reputation for its environmental policies and dedication to sustainability. It has already helped to reforest around 24,000 trees in Chile since 2021.

Sebastián Aguirre, the Global Marketing Manager of Casillero del Diablo, expressed “his happiness at contributing to the legacy of the Parapan American Games in Chile. He said that planting 2,000 quillay trees will serve as a lasting reminder of the remarkable achievements of the Para athletes who participated in this historic sporting event”.

Laura Jil, the Head of Sustainability at Santiago 2023 Corporation, stated that the upcoming Parapan American Games will be making history by conducting its first-ever reforestation drive. As part of this initiative, every Para athlete will be allowed to plant a tree, which will symbolize their remarkable efforts and achievements.

Additionally, a geolocation system has been implemented that will allow Para athletes to track the precise location of their trees.

Erik Rodriguez, an exceptional blind soccer player, expressed his excitement: “It’s very thrilling to have a tree named after me. I can tell my son and grandson about it in the future.”

Mauricio Orrego, who won a gold medal in athletics, has emphasized that their aim is not only to be a sporting legacy for the citizens but also to leave an environmental legacy. This project reflects their commitment to preserving the environment and creating a positive impact that lasts for a long time.

Camila Campos, a powerlifter who has won two gold medals, says that her sports career continues after achieving a medal. She believes that athletes should continue growing and developing like a tree. She hopes that her success will inspire others and that Chile will not forget her and her achievements.

Casillero del Diablo proudly showcases a new initiative that brings together sporting excellence and environmental conservation. Two thousand trees have been planted in honor of the Para athletes, serving as a lasting tribute to their invaluable contributions to society. This initiative highlights their achievements and promotes biodiversity and a sustainable future for Chile.
