Concha y Toro has once again reaffirmed its strong commitment to environmental management, governance, and social performance through this global certification.
“This certification is a solid step in our business’s commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance, which are strategic growth pillars for us. Being part of this global movement means embarking on a path of continuous improvement, striving for our business to have a positive impact and to contribute to addressing global challenges,” said Eduardo Guilisasti, General Manager of Viña Concha y Toro.
Concha y Toro is joining this global movement, including nearly 4,000 companies worldwide that want to bring about systemic change and build an equitable, inclusive, and regenerative economic model for people and the planet.
“The Viña Concha y Toro holding company is delighted to receive this certification as a B Corporation, making it the first Chilean B Corporation to be listed on the stock market. This certification demonstrates that a company can produce high-quality products and have financial profitability while at the same time being committed to continuous improvement in its social and environmental impact. This is a historic milestone for the B movement in Chile and an example that we hope other larger companies will follow both in our sector but in other industries as well,” said Josefa Monge, executive president of Sistema B Chile.
Sustainability has been a strategic pillar for Viña Concha y Toro (a holding company that owns Concha y Toro ) since 2011, and this has served as a roadmap on our journey. Progress has been made in six areas: customers, products, people, society, the supply chain, and the environment.
“Becoming part of the B Corp community is the result of a two-and-a-half-year process that required a lot of internal collaboration and enthusiasm to take on the challenge of evaluating all of our global operations. We have learned a lot of things, which we are incorporating into our Positive Impact Strategy and using to guide our future actions,” said Valentina Lira, Viña Concha y Toro’s sustainable development manager.
About Sistema B
The B Corporation certification is led by Sistema B, a non-profit organization that believes that governments, civil society organizations, social movements, the general public, and socially responsible businesses, combined, are still not enough to solve the social and environmental problems we face. Sistema B is committed to working to create a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system for all. It assists B-Corporations, which are companies that measure their social and environmental impact and have a personal, institutional and legal commitment to make decisions that take into account the long-term consequences that their actions will have on the community and the environment. Currently, almost 4,000 B Corporations are operating in more than 150 industries and 70 countries around the world. More information at www.sistemab.org
