The 2017 Gravas del Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon takes the 27th position on this year’s prestigious Top 100 list prepared by the US magazine Wine Spectator. It is also the highest ranking Chilean wine and the third world’s best Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine by winemaker Isabel Mitarakis earned 95 points in the publication, which makes an annual selection of the world’s most interesting wines based on their quality,
price, and availability. This year the ranking included only two wines from Chile.
What did Kim Marcus say about this outstanding wine?
“Precise and powerful, with fleshy richness to the dark currant, cassis and black olive flavors, matched to dried savory accents. Mocha and dark chocolate details show on the long, richly spiced finish”.
On the other hand, Isabel Mitarakis expressed that “this distinction represents a great recognition of the Gravas project and the Puente Alto terroir. I feel a tremendous responsibility and pride to be part in its creation. Being among the 100 best wines in the world selected by Wine Spectator is a great achievement and face us with the challenge of maintaining that privileged position”.
