More than 300 people participated in the traditional blind tasting.

On September 30, the 2022 edition of Premium Tasting Chile, one of the most highly anticipated and public events on the Chilean wine lover’s calendar, took place at the Mandarin Oriental Santiago Hotel.

Tasting Central is a large-scale tasting for 350 people guided by specialists organized by Mendoza native Nicolás Alemán since 2011. The event consists of a blind tasting of what is considered Chile’s best wines by the most influential critics and specialized media worldwide.

During this year’s edition, participants tasted 42 local wines paired with 21 gourmet dishes prepared by the Mandarin Oriental Santiago hotel’s chef and a Premium Tasting team of sommeliers. Viña Concha y Toro features its iconic Amelia Chardonnay 2021 in the event.

As well as the Tasting Central, participants could attend specialized seminars during which our winemakers Marcelo Papa and Marcio Ramírez had the opportunity to speak about Viña Concha y Toro’s Amelia Chardonnay 2020 and 2021, Marques Heritage 2020 and Terrunyo Carmenere 2021 wines.

Wine journalists Ana María Barahona, Patricio Tapia, and sommelier Héctor Riquelme hosted the event.
