The 2021 Carmenere vintage from acclaimed appellation Peumo received an outstanding 95 points and a Gold Medal in the latest version of the prestigious international competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards.

Results were announced at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 (DWWA), a renowned international wine competition organized by the British wine magazine Decanter, where Terrunyo Carmenere 2021, part of Concha y Toro’s high-end portfolio, received an outstanding 95 points and a Gold Medal.

The 2024 edition of the competition evaluated over 14,400 labels from wineries worldwide and ranked Terrunyo Carmenere 2021 as the second-best Carmenere on the list.

An expert panel evaluating Terrunyo Carmenere included wine experts Andrew Jefford, Sarah Jane Evans (MW), Ronan Sayburn, Michael Hill Smith (MW), and Beth Willard, who described the 2021 vintage of Terrunyo Carmenere as:

“A stylish event, brimming with blue fruit, bramble leaf and minty perfume, with a smooth, velvety texture and austere, refined tannins. Well-honed and luxuriously long”.

Such recognition further confirms the exceptional quality of our wines, particularly Terrunyo Carmenere, which originated in Peumo, the birthplace of the world’s great Carmenere wines.
