The renowned British Masters of Wine have published the 2024 edition of their annual report on Chilean wines, where the new 2022 vintage of Terrunyo Carmenere impressed with a highlighted 94 points.

The 2024 edition of the “Wines of the Year” report, written by the British Masters of Wine Susie Barrie and Peter Richards, recently came out. This report tasted approximately 100 Chilean labels.

With an impressive 94 points, Terrunyo Carmenere was included in the select list. The 2022 vintage was positively described by the Masters of Wine as:

“Love this! Terrunyo, sourced from the deep soils and warm surrounds of Peumo in Cachapoal, was one of the pioneering Carmeneres of its day. But at one time it was at the riper, richer end of the spectrum. Nowadays it’s a sleeker, altogether more refined beast, with freshness and varietal typicity to the fore. The glory of Carmenere truly unfurls in this wine. It’s fresh and expressive, with aromas of red pepper, sun-baked grass and damson fruit. The palate is juicy, succulent and with plenty of dark fruit weight. The finish is bittersweet with a creamy texture. It’s serious, perfumed and somewhat exotic too.”

This high score and tasting note once again underscore the excellent consistency and enological quality of Terrunyo Carmenere, which originates from the acclaimed Peumo appellation.
