Are you a true Cabernet Sauvignon lover?

The queen of red varieties has managed to conquer the hearts of winelovers around the world making it the most popular grape variety on the planet.

If you consider yourself a Cabernet Sauvignon lover, you must read these 5 facts about the grape:

1- Bordeaux, the origin of everything

The story goes that in the French region of Bordeaux, winemakers managed to cross the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. This resulted in Cabernet Sauvignon, a grape that produces concentrated wines with great aging potential.

2- Its grapes are recognized by their thick skin.

This grape variety contains high levels of tannins, is intense in color and flavor and needs a long, warm growing season to reach optimum ripeness.

3- Dried fruit, soil and undergrowth…..

What are we talking about? The tertiary flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon (i.e. the flavors that develop in the finest wines after years of bottle aging).

4- The best companion

Given the richness of its flavors and high concentration of tannins, Cabernet Sauvignon is ideal for pairing with grilled meats, spicy sauces and dishes with a high concentration of flavors. My recommendation? Enjoy a Marques de Casa Concha with grilled lamb, a perfect match!

5- Where are Chile’s best terroirs ?

The Aconcagua and Maipo valleys. The Maipo Valley is where the renowned Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon and Gravas Cabernet Sauvignon wines are made, the latter coming specifically from the famous Alto Maipo wine sub-region.

And is custom on the last Thursday of August, we toast this noble variety. cheers! #CabernetSauvignonDay.
