The elegance of a great Pinot Noir begins at its place of origin

In my search for great Pinot Noir terroirs, I found an exceptional origin in Quebrada Seca. A place where ocean influence, calcareous soils, and the climate of Limarí shape a wine of remarkable elegance, precision, and depth.

There are grape varieties that continually challenge the team. For me, Pinot Noir is one of them.

Its delicacy requires observation, patience, and a deep understanding of the place where it is grown. It is a variety that invites you to listen more than intervene, and whose greatest virtue lies in its ability to express the character of a terroir with remarkable precision.

Perhaps that is why it has fascinated me for so many years.

In my search for the finest terroirs for this variety, I arrived in Quebrada Seca, in the Limarí Valley. There, I found an extraordinary place, shaped by the influence of the Pacific Ocean, the brightness of northern Chile, and the richness of its calcareous soils. From the very beginning, I understood that this unique site possessed all the conditions needed to produce a Pinot Noir of great precision, tension, and elegance.

Amelia Pinot Noir was born from that discovery. It is the expression of an origin that continues to surprise me vintage after vintage, revealing depth, energy, and sophistication that have positioned Quebrada Seca among the most compelling regions for Pinot Noir in the world.

What attracts me most about Pinot Noir is that it never stops challenging me. Every season is different, and every harvest offers a new opportunity to better understand the vineyard and capture its essence in the wine.

On Winemaker’s Day, and during Pinot Noir Month, that is precisely what I celebrate: the opportunity to work with a variety that demands both sensitivity and conviction, and with a terroir that demonstrates just how far elegance can go when variety and origin come together in exceptional harmony.

Because great Pinot Noirs are not made. They are discovered. And for me, that discovery happened in Quebrada Seca.
